You take a bottle to Gerard's, he looks at it not-quite-askance, offers you a nice you-should-know-better smile, and you never see it again. I don't know if there is a charity that donates unwanted wine to the poor, but if there is, they must get vanloads from him.
Stephen		 Chablis with the pork
Gerard		 Quin didn't use to drink anything so much as everything, just not with dinner; Gerard is much more particular, partly I guess because he drinks so much less.
